SESSION PREP GUIDE

Every session I offer is designed to feel relaxed, natural, and centered around connection—not perfection. This guide will help you feel prepared going into your session so you can show up confident and stress-free. ♡

GENERAL PREP (FOR ALL SESSIONS)



Aim for neutral, earthy tones (avoid bright/neon colors & logos)

Make sure everyone is well-fed and (as much as possible) rested

Don’t stress about perfect behavior—especially with kids

Trust the process—real moments > perfect poses

ANNOUNCEMENT SESSIONS

Indoor:

Keep outfits simple + neutral

Bring ultrasound photos, baby shoes, or meaningful props

Soft, minimal looks photograph best


Outdoor:

Flowy dresses photograph beautifully

Choose soft colors that complement nature

Keep props minimal so the focus stays on you

GENDER REVEAL SESSIONS

Indoor:

Keep setup clean + simple (balloons, cake, or confetti)

Avoid over-decorating—less is more

Choose outfits that won’t clash with reveal colors


Outdoor:

Be mindful of wind (especially for confetti)

Use smoke, powder, or balloons for movement

Bring a backup outfit if things get messy 😅

MATERNITY SESSIONS

Indoor:

Form-fitting or flowy dresses both photograph beautifully

Neutrals + soft textures work best

Minimal styling keeps focus on your bump

Outdoor:

Flowy dresses add movement + softness

Golden hour creates the most flattering light

Choose shoes you can easily walk in

Water Session Tips:

Wear something lightweight that can get wet

Neutrals or soft tones look best in water

Expect movement—these sessions are playful and free

Bring a towel + change of clothes

NEWBORN SESSIONS



Indoor (Studio or In-Home):

Keep baby awake slightly before session if possible

Feed baby right before we start

Dress baby in something easy to remove


For parents:

Stick to soft, neutral outfits

Keep it simple and comfortable


Outdoor:

Keep baby warm + cozy

Neutral wraps or outfits work best

These sessions are slow and baby-led

 

MOTHERHOOD SESSIONS
